OGNI means FIRE!

OGNI was born from a shared passion for food and culture, blending the rich culinary traditions of South and Southeast Asia with contemporary Australian flair. Our name, meaning “fire” in Bengali, reflects our focus on using smoke and flame to create depth and richness in every dish. Founders Sarah Tiong and Rashedul ‘Rashie’ Hasan, both MasterChef Australia alumni, bring their diverse backgrounds and love for innovative cuisine to OGNI. Our dishes are a tribute to our heritage, travel stories, and the dynamic food culture of Australia.

Meet Sarah Tiong

Sarah Tiong, a former lawyer turned chef and author, brings a vibrant energy and passion for South and Southeast Asian cuisine to OGNI. Known for her appearances on MasterChef Australia and her best-selling cookbooks, Sarah's culinary journey is driven by her love for bold, spicy, and textural delights. Her creative flair and dedication to sharing her knowledge make dining at OGNI an unforgettable experience.

Meet Rashedul ‘Rashie’ Hasan

Rashedul ‘Rashie’ Hasan, a dessert and cocktail aficionado, infuses OGNI with his unique creative touch. With a background in engineering and management, Rashie's culinary journey began on MasterChef Australia, leading to professional experiences in Sydney and beyond. His passion for innovative desserts and drinks adds a delightful dimension to our menu, making each visit to OGNI a sensory adventure.
